Mother Mary

I developed a fascination for religious icons while traveling through a Greek island. The vibrant imagery and symbolic presence of these figures drew me in, and I began collecting paintings and statues of them. Soon, my fingers started to tingle with inspiration—I wanted to create one myself.

I decided to experiment with clay, and as I worked with it, a figure began to emerge. It was unmistakably feminine, and this statue naturally became a form of Mother Mary. Coming from a non-religious background, I didn’t grow up worshiping statues or Mother Mary in particular. But I’ve always been drawn to femininity and the immense power it carries.

This statue symbolizes feminine energy as a force that resides in all things. I created it for people to adorn and worship, in whatever way resonates with them. This is only my first test statue, but it feels like the start of something bigger. I plan to make many more, letting the process remain intuitive and open to discovery.
